Born in Frankfurt, Germany to an American military family; DJ Cougar started making custom tapes for himself in the mid-seventies while living in Berlin, Germany.
The music really took over when he moved to Austin, TX in 1982. Received the official "DJ Cougar" name while stationed in Washington DC in February of 1988.
Having moved around the east coast quite a bit, he is now based out of Portland, Maine and became well known for his karaoke shows that began in 2001. Discovered mashups in late 2004 and integrated them into all his shows. Moved up to doing music video shows (mostly mashup videos) in 2008. Whether it be vinyl, cd, laptop, video or karaoke he's always able to rock a show...
